Paul Serafini, FSA, FCIA, has over 20 years of experience as an actuary and consultant in both the consulting and insurance industries. In particular, he has focused the latter part of his career in the Group Benefits environment as both an actuary and consultant to a wide range of employer benefit programs. Paul is experienced in leading actuarial and consulting teams as well as being the front-line actuary delivering on various client and stakeholder mandates.
He was most recently an Assistant Vice-President in the Capital & Risk Management team at Foresters, leading a team of actuaries and analysts in the delivery of various Capital mandates - most importantly the 5-year Business Plan. Paul also has extensive experience as a Group Actuary with two large HR Consulting firms and holds extensive technical and industry knowledge in group benefits and health care consulting as a subject-matter expert.
Paul’s client list includes both small and large public and private sector organizations, and he has also worked with organizations that have union employees, including providing assistance, analysis, and advice on collective bargaining benefit issues. He is a graduate of the University of Waterloo, Ontario, and holds a Bachelor of Mathematics and an Actuarial Science Major with a Minor in Statistics.
